the actual 4th of july here in ludington rained like hell, and the fireworks were canceled. everyone came over to our place though and we watched some movies, and had some nice dinner. other than that, i havent really been doing much. the 5th they had the fireworks on the public beach... and yesterday we drove up to torch lake. we spent the whole day there visiting some friends of my parents. the drive kind of suckes, it was like 2 and a half hours north of ludington near traverse city. we did a lot of boating and hanging around... we went to this one bar/restaraunt on the water called the dockside... it was pretty good... there were a lot of girls in skimpy outfits (woot!) and the food was good. ive done some homework today... im not sure what else is planned. my brother drove up last night, so he is here now. its thursday already, i cant believe i only have a couple days left. i like vacation....

The 4th of July is special for a good reason

We should all take some time to think about why the 4th of July is important. A recent discussion of the eminent domain issue reminded me of this fact and I am going to take some time and actually read The Declaration of Independence. The United States of America was born from the desire for people to be free of oppressive governments. Now, we are sliding backwards.
